UU@Home April
Our 7th UU Principle reminds us to “Respect the Interdependent Web of all existence of which we are a part,” and the month of April brings Earth Day-the perfect opportunity for UUs to honor our Mother (Earth, that is!).
Making a green home or church can sometimes seem like an overwhelming task; this month, get started in your own green ministry by exploring some simple changes:
- Get the whole family involved in the 3 r’s: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle!
- Turn trash into treasure and create gifts from used items
- Set yourself up for success: create a home recycling center
- Buy “used” when you can from second-hand stores and garage sales!
- need more “3 R” tips? Jack Johnson has some ideas (and a catchy tune!)
- Explore ways to save energy at home.

- Commit to shorter showers
- Turn off lights in rooms that are unoccupied
